Last weekend we packed our freshly roasted in Transylvania coffees, our Aeropress tools and our coolest sloths t-shirts and we went to Bucharest for 2019 Romanian Aeropress Championship held within Slow Coffee Festival.
Meron at Slow Coffee Festival
You already know Meron was the Official Coffee Sponsor for this event. We loved seeing how El Salvador Los Cutuzos, the coffee we chose especially for the competition, shone under the recipes and technique of all participants. But have you seen our Meron stand?
Dressed up with in our Slow Coffee Festival signature t-shirt, we welcomed you there with specialty coffee, both brew and espresso, freshly roasted in Transylvania beans, smiles and kindness. Yes, kindness, with the help of all the people who came by and tasted our coffee at the festival, we turned every cup of coffee into a good deed. We partnered up with FDP Cluj by donating the money to help children from vulnerable communities go to school.
2019 Romanian Aeropress Championship
Slow and steady, our Meron team of sloths competed at 2019 Romanian Aeropress Championship. Focused, playful, nervous or even praying, pushed that Aeropress real good, so good that Cătălin Graure reached the semifinals.
We cheered for all our people who entered the competition, we carefully analyzed each gesture of the jury while tasting the coffees and we also tasted some great Aeropress recipes along with them. Yuko Inoue, New York Coffee Masters’ Champion and part of The Barn team, Vlad Buda, co-founder of Steam Coffee Shop, and Ionuț Bindilă, founder of Two Minutes, we salute you!
We want to congratulate everyone for taking the challenge and spoiling our coffee with your magic. Also, congrats to the winners: Adrian Mihăilă from Bob Coffee Lab, 2019 Romanian Aeropress Championship, Alexandru Lazăr from Victor. Fresh to Go, 2nd Place, and Călin Marius from Coftale, 3rd place.
See you next year!
